Tin Man back at Burnley

Ted McMinn
He signed for Burnley, initially on loan from Birmingham, in March 1994 with Jimmy Mullen eventually making his move a permanent one. He scored his first Burnley goal on his home debut against Stockport, but it was that next meeting between the two clubs for which he'll be remembered as he wound up the Stockport players to such an extent that they ended the game with nine men.

He left Burnley in 1996, surfacing in Australia, but by then his playing career was over. He coached alongside Mark Wright when he was manager of Chester and Oxford but he left the game and later an infection in his right leg forced him to have it amputated.

He's been back to Burnley previously, commentating for radio on Derby games but Ted is now with Derbyshire County Cricket Club, working as the kit manager, and this is the link that has organised his return to Burnley tomorrow. It's been organised by Derbyshire player Jonathan Clare whose mum Elaine is the ticket office manager at Turf Moor.

I'm sure he'll get an excellent reception from all four sides of Turf Moor.
