Three year deal for Stanislas at Bournemouth

The Championship club have now confirmed that signing with Stanislas having signed a three year deal at Dean Court where he will once again link up with Eddie Howe, and he's given that as the reason why he chose not to remain at Turf Moor.

Stanislas said: "Obviously I was with Eddie and Jason before, so to be back here and playing for someone that knows me is obviously good. I had a look round, it has good facilities and an ambitious club so hopefully it will be good.

"He (Eddie Howe) is brilliant. I was playing at West Ham and then I got to a point where I wasn't really and he gave me a way out. He always had faith in me and stuck with me and gave me a lot of games and experience at Burnley, so when I knew Bournemouth were interested, with Eddie Howe as manager, I really wanted to come down here and work with him again."

Stanislas joined the Clarets from West Ham at the end of August 2011 and made his debut as a substitute in a 2-0 home defeat against Middlesbrough, replacing Keith Treacy.

Although never the first name on the team sheet he started 25 league games in his first season at Burnley and bettered that with 27 in the following season, but last season, with Scott Arfield and Michael Kightly the preferred wide men, he started only seven times in the league which included the first three games of the season.

He added 20 substitute appearances to that in a season which saw him add two goals to the five he'd scored the season before, and the one against Blackburn, that looked as though it was going to be a winner, will be the one best remembered.

In total he made 93 league appearances for the Clarets and a further eight in the cups taking him to 101 in total, and he made his final appearance on the last day of the season when he came on for Scott Arfield.

Perhaps it was one of the bigger surprises, given his lack of game time, when he was offered a new deal last month, but he's decided not to sign it and instead drop back to the Championship with a manager he clearly knows well and respects and where he'll expect to get more football.

I'm sure he'll always be welcome back at Turf Moor as one of the squad who took Burnley to a record breaking 93 points as we won promotion back to the Premier League.
