For Grant, it was his third appearance this season, with all coming in the Carling Cup and Carlisle was returning to the team after completing his three match ban following the somewhat harsh red card he received at Millwall.
It was goalkeeper Grant who came out on top in the man of the match, polling 34.2% of the vote with central defender Carlisle in second place with a 17.4% share. Mears claimed third place with 14.1% of the vote.
The only difference in the player ratings was the top two swapping places with Carlisle winning it with a rating of 8.70 out of 10 and Grant second and his rating was 8.20. Again Mears was third with a rating of 8.00 out of 10.
That gives both Grant and Carlisle five points each towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with Mears winning two points. Carlisle's points take him to fourth in the table whist for Grant, not used in league games until yesterday at QPR, they were his first points of the season.
The voting for that league game at QPR is currently underway and will run until the end of tomorrow (Tuesday night). Wednesday brings the October Goal of the Month vote with six goals to choose from. The voting polls, as always, are down the right hand side of the front page.
