Graham Alexander played the full ninety minutes for Scotland in their game against Macedonia in Skopje this afternoon but a fifth minute goal from Ilco Naumoski was enough to give the home side a 1-0 win.

It was the turn of the Irish. There was no place for Michael Duff, not even on the bench, but Martin Paterson started in a wide role. The Irish trailed 1-0 to Slovakia in Bratislava to a first half goal and Pato was replaced by West Brom's Chris Brunt after 66 minutes. Four minutes later it was all over as the Slovaks added a second, but an own goal nine minutes from time saw the game end 2-1.

Finally, 75 minutes into Albania's home game against Sweden, Hamdi Salinhi was replaced by substitute Besart Berisha who was making his eighth appearance for his country against Sweden. And this was his first international appearance since the game against Malta in August last year when he sustained his cruciate ligament injury.

Albania got themselves a decent result, holding Sweden to a 0-0 draw in Tirana, but in a group that also includes Portugal and Denmark they are not expected to qualify.

All the appearances by the Burnley players have been added to the Internationals feature.
