Robbie Blake
Robbie Blake - up to fourth place
Thompson came on just past the hour for Chris Eagles with the Clarets a goal down but netted twice to give us our first points in six weeks since the win at Bristol City.

He and Blake were neck and neck during the man of the match voting, but it was Thommo who eventually came out on top having polled 33.1% of the vote. Blake was second with 24.2% and Wade Elliott was third with 15.5% of the vote.

It was the same top two in the player ratings although the other way round. This time Blake came out on top with a rating of 7.89 out of 10 with Thompson second, and his rating was 7.80. Kevin McDonald, who came on as a substitute just a few minutes before Thompson and had a real influence on the game, was third with a rating of 7.49 out of 10.

That gives both Thompson and Blake five points each towards the player of the year whilst Elliott and McDonald get a point each.

Those points have moved Blake up two places into joint fourth place alongside Brian Jensen and now just two points behind Chris McCann in third place.

Voting for the FA Cup replay against West Brom continues until the end of tomorrow.
