It's left manager Eddie Howe waiting for news on the pair before making a decision on whether to strengthen the squad in those areas before the January transfer window closes.
He said: "We had an injury to Clarke and it leaves us a body light. He suffered a clash of knees and did well to get to half time, but as yet we don't know how serious that is.
"In addition, Steven Thompson will be seeing a specialist during the week with a groin problem he had had for a while, so we could be a couple of bodies light and we may need to act with that during the window.
"We have identified a couple of players, but there is a long way to go and I won't comment on individual names. It is just a case of seeing who we can bring in because the squad is strong and I don't really need to do too much"
