Thomas deal confirmed

It has been something of a whirlwind for our former captain who learned of Southampton's interest only this week, and it is believed he headed down to the south coast yesterday for a medical and initial talks.

He'll go straight into George Burley's squad for their game against Norwich at Carrow Road this Saturday. In that squad he will line up alongside Grzegorz Rasiak and Jhon Viafara, two players who have been involved in incidents that led to Thomas being sent off in his Burnley career.

I remain totally convinced that Rasiak cheated that day two years ago in our 2-2 draw with Derby, and only Viafara will know whether he was justified in going down as if he'd been shot by a sniper in September last year when Southampton beat us 3-2. It will be an interesting dressing room.

Best of luck Thommo, no matter what happened at Burnley I believe you deserved better luck than you got and a fairer deal than you received. Just don't have good games against us.
