Thomas appeal fails

They have suspended Wayne for the next three games, although that will have no effect with him now ruled out for the season. Ironically had we not appealed he would not have played at Reading and would now be looking for a return in the game at Plymouth next month.

Having said that the club were without doubt correct to make the appeal and you have to wonder just how such decisions are upheld when there is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that he elbowed anyone.

As always it seems to be the referee is supported no matter what, and it is just a pity that Laws didn’t have the guts to change the decision, something he wasn’t prepared to do even though he admitted that the television pictures were inconclusive.
