They are listening

Just under a week ago they announced a family ticket package to try and attract more support for the next two home games against Rotherham and Reading and the immediate response from supporters was one of approval.

We, like those responsible for running the club, can see that something needs to be done to arrest the problem of falling gates with no real increase in walk ons despite the disastrous season ticket campaign.

It was obvious something had to be done but discussions at Bramall Lane on Saturday suggested that although everyone was behind the reduced prices there was criticism of the added reduction in price for a match programme and refreshments, a reduction not offered to season ticket holders.

Now Burnley Football Club of last season would have ignored that and carried on regardless without worrying whether they were upsetting season ticket holders or not (and they wonder why there are thousands less).

But things right now are different and by Monday they had reviewed it and offered the extra discounts to season ticket holders as well. You need to call into the ticket office to collect vouchers if you are a season ticket holder and you too can get 50p off your programme etc.

It might not be a major boost, many don’t even buy a programme, but the fact is the club listened to the criticism and acted. Yes they listened and that has to be one of the most significant things to happen down Harry Potts Way for quite some time.
