There must be two Glenn Roeders

A number of names were mentioned and it is known that Steve McLaren was offered the job before turning them down to join Middlesbrough. Alan Curbishley was targeted but opted to stay with Charlton and so it went on.

In the end, in sheer desperation, they left the caretaker in charge, the Sinister One Glenn Roeder. Nothing against West Ham but this appointment defied any sort of logic and the Hammers fans were far from pleased at the choice.

The start to the season was poor and after one hammering it looked like the Sinister One was on his way. To many it looked as though he just about survived but we can now reveal this not to be so. He was in fact sacked and replaced by a double who even uses the same name.

Not even the West Ham fans, bless ‘em, noticed and to this day they are not aware of the managerial change. We spotted the change very quickly but needed the proof before revealing this exclusive.

The proof is now with us. The ‘double' has now completed negotiations with the club and has signed a new contract that keeps him at West Ham until 2005. The cover up was finally exposed today from within the club itself and from the Managing Director Paul Aldridge. He issued the following statement,

"Glenn's extended contract underlines the esteem in which he is held by everyone at the club and provides the continuity which is part of West Ham United's proud tradition.

"His judicious spending in the transfer market, and the respect he commands from players, staff and fans alike, not to mention the encouraging results he has achieved, have combined to make the decision to offer a new contract one that the board is delighted to make.

"The board has every confidence that the club is moving in the right direction under Glenn, and will continue to do so in future."

The clues are there. The new man is held in esteem by everyone at the club, he commands respect from players and fans whilst the board have every confidence in him moving them in the right direction.

Could this ever be the Sinister One?

But who is it?

Who in his right mind has gone out of his way to look like him?

Who really is the manager of West Ham United?

We will continue our investigations, and hopefully will one day be able to reveal all.
