The Orient Game - what do you remember?

Last updated : 25 April 2002 By Tony Scholes

I don't think we need to tell any of you that it was the last game of the 1986/87 season, the game when we just had to win and hope in order to retain our Football League status. It is the game that is now known simply as ‘THE ORIENT GAME'.

Clarets Mad want to mark the anniversary but we need your help. We would like you to send us your thoughts, memories, feelings from that day. It can be just a sentence, a paragraph or an essay but we want to hear from you to enable us to build up a section of the site that will be devoted to this one game in the club's history.

You might have been there, like myself, a complete nervous wreck. You could well have been unable to get to the game or even chosen not to go to the game. Wherever you were though it is pretty safe to assume that the goings on at Turf Moor that day in May 1987 were at the forefront of your mind.

Help us to remember the day none of us must ever forget and send us your memories by clicking below.
