Kevin McDonald - in the Under-21s
Martin Paterson and Michael Duff are back in Belfast for Northern Ireland's home game against the Czech Republic whilst Graham Alexander, passed fit after a thigh problem, is hoping to start for the Scots in their game against Iceland in Reykjavik.

And not forgetting Bes Berisha who will be looking to get back into Albania's starting line up for the home game against Malta in Tirana, the team he was playing against last year when he suffered the cruciate ligament injury.

But before these players were even involved last weekend, two of our young Scots both played in their respective teams. On Thursday Kevin McDonald was again in the Under-21 team. They beat Slovenia 3-1 at Falkirk and McDonald played all but three minutes of the game before he was replaced by Robertson of Dundee United.

A day later and Alex MacDonald won his first representative honour when he was named in the starting eleven for the Scotland Under-19 game against Holland in Veenendaal. He played for just the first twenty minutes before being forced off with injury and the Scots went on to lose the game 5-0.
