The Agent has gone at Ewood

Life is different at the Football League's only Indian owned club and Kean, who replaced Sam Allardyce in December 2010 and did such a wonderful job, has now felt the need to take his leave.

In a statement tonight, via his legal people, he said: "For reasons that I cannot discuss on legal advice, it is with deep regret, given my hard work and service for the club for a number of years, that I have been forced to resign as manager of Blackburn Rovers Football Club with immediate effect, due to my position as team manager becoming untenable.

"I wish to thank all the players and coaching staff for their great support and the majority of the fans, who now see their club heading towards and automatic promotion position back to the Premiership. I wish the club all the very best for the future."

This is news that has staggered most Burnley fans. Known as Agent Kean to those who support the claret and blue, it is hard to see how such a successful manager can feel the need to resign. Is it more shabby treatment from motor mouth Shebby?

Rather than celebrate Kean bringing them to the Championship, supporters at Blackburn have abused him throughout his tenure, even when, in a vital game at Tottenham, he managed to get his side to register not a single shot at goal, either on or off target.

What more do they want? Maybe with the next appointment they'll wish they hadn't reacted so badly.

I would like to wish Mr Kean the very best in the future and thank him for his services to sport in East Lancashire, particularly since December 2010.
