The 0-0 referee is in charge

His first Premiership match was back in October at Loftus Road between Fulham and Wolves and it ended in a goalless draw. It was the same result for his next Premiership fixture between Bolton and Southampton at the Reebok.

And nothing has changed since, with Middlesbrough v Charlton, Southampton v Leicester and Portsmouth v Wolves all ending without a goal.

That’s not a suggestion that it will be 0-0 tomorrow, away from the Premiership he has been able to find some goals with Portsmouth’s 4-2 win at Forest in the Carling Cup providing him with some goal action.

He was at Turf Moor earlier in the season for our game against Cardiff when apart from the result being 1-1 he also yellow carded one player from each side, ours was Dean West.

He’s also paid a previous visit to the Den this season when they played Palace and on that occasion his cards came out on no fewer than eight occasions with Palace’s Tommy Black sent off.

And it isn't his first fixture between these two sides, he was in charge when wee drew 2-2 at the Turf last season.

He is averaging exactly three yellow cards per game this season with 69 in 23 games. Of those 32 have gone to home team players and 37 to away team players.

If we are looking for a lucky omen he has refereed two FA Cup ties this season and both have ended in 2-1 away wins – West Ham at Wigan and Tranmere at Bolton.
