That didn’t happen and the Conference club are pointing the finger at Millwall number two Ray Wilkins. They say it was Wilkins’ complaints about the pitch that forced the postponement.
Telford said: "United had borrowed heated covers from the FA and poured 40 tonnes of sand over the troublesome areas of the pitch, but that and the ground staff’s valiant efforts were not enough to convince the referee, or more importantly Mr. Wilkins, that the pitch was playable."
It looks as though the tie will now be played next Tuesday although the FA could step in and ask for it to be played at a neutral venue if the Bucks Head pitch is not playable.
But for now Telford United are blaming Ray Wilkins for this latest postponement.
