Taylor on the rails

Almost from the start it looked as though Micky Conroy was going to win the chase. Conroy became the first striker to score twenty league goals in a season for the Clarets for 26 years as we won the 4th Division title. In the end though he couldn't hang on as current striker Taylor stormed through.

Often criticised by the Turf Moor crowd Gareth spent the early part of the week trailing in third place with Andy Cooke second but as the week came to an end he saw off Andy and started to chase Conroy. With two days to go he was in front and once there was able to retain a slender lead.

In the end he won it with 36% of the vote with Conroy right behind on 33.3%. Andy Cooke eventually fell some distance behind and ended with 22.1%. The other two candidates were never in the running, Adrian Heath signing Paul Barnes won just 7.4% of the vote and Tony Philliskirk a meagre 1.2%.

This week gives you the chance to complete the line up with just one place left available. It is up to you now as to who will partner Gareth Taylor up front. As always the voting poll is on the top right of the front page.

The team so far is:

Marlon Beresford

Dean West

Steve Davis

Arthur Gnohere

Lee Briscoe

Glen Little

John Deary

Paul Cook

David Eyres

Gareth Taylor
