Supporter buys Arthur

Despite being recalled early into the second month of his loan spell it was evident that he had no long term future at the Turf and on signing for QPR today manager Stan Ternent said that as well as being a good deal for Burnley it was also a good deal for Arthur.

"It gives Arthur a chance to play first team football which he wouldn’t have got here," said Stan.

He still had another season after this at Burnley but has signed a contract at QPR that will take him beyond that and to the end of the 2005/06 season.

Arthur, who will make his debut in front of the Sky cameras tomorrow night said, "I’m very happy to be back. This is a massive club and I am happy to be playing here."

R’s boss Ian Holloway revealed that the deal would not have been possible but for a supporter who has funded the transfer.

Burnley will not receive any fee for him initially but there will be payments based on QPR’s achievements (presumably promotion) and Arthur’s appearances.

I’m sure Burnley fans would want to wish Arthur all the best at his new club.
