Suffo was never heading for Turf Moor

Suffo, a second half substitute for Cameroon this morning against the Republic of Ireland, signed for the Spanish club after realising that he had no future at Bramall Lane. Along with George Santos he brought the game into disrepute with his antics against West Brom and it was Suffo who became the third player to see red when he head butted Derek McInnes right in front of referee Wolstenholme.

Apparently Stan wanted to bring him to Burnley but Suffo was insistent on moving abroad. That has to be the most ridiculous speculation of the summer. It was clear from the day of the Bramall fiasco that Suffo and Santos would have no future in English football never mind at Bramall Lane. It was clear that no English manager would even consider signing either of them.

This seems nothing other than his agent suggestion there were perhaps more offers for him than the one that took him to Spain. Thankfully he is now out of the country and make no mistake that Stan would never have contemplated bringing him to Turf Moor.
