Former loan keeper Lee Grant comes as no surprise. He's was signed by his current club Sheffield Wednesday by our current manager Brian Laws and has established himself as first choice at Hillsborough. It is thought he'd cost around £1.5 million.
However, this morning's news suggest we have approached Wolves with a view to taking their young keeper Wayne Hennessey on loan for the entire 2009/10 season. Hennessey started last season as first choice at Molineux but lost his place to Marcus Hahnemann.
It looks as though Mick McCarthy's reaction was to make us an offer that would allow us to sign Hennessey whilst he got his hands on our much coveted forward Steven Fletcher who, according to sources, has been valued at £7 million by the Clarets.
Could Fletcher go, and could he be joined by another Scottish international striker by the exit door? Steven Thompson has been offered a new deal by Burnley but today there is news that Hearts would like to take him back to Scotland.
Grant and Hennessey in - Fletcher and Thompson out. It's called speculation, and it will continue all summer.
