Stop these idiots

The away fans entrance is not the only strange thing at Luton now
This may have nothing to do with Burnley Football Club but it is a story that should send shivers down the spine of every football supporter. We’ve already had Franchise, Brighton, York, Barnsley (bought by a penniless mayor) and others that have found themselves in a real struggle because of the modern idiot arriving in the boardroom.

Now at Luton they are trying to eclipse everything that has gone on before. A new consortium took over just a few weeks ago and they have already created havoc.

Manager Joe Kinnear and his assistant Mick Harford were sacked – and incredibly they were sacked by Peter Miller from Northampton Town who just happened to be visiting the Luton club.

Mind you they haven’t rectified the mistake and are instead going to have an election for a new manage with the fans voting. They are going to look pretty stupid because the fans are going to vote for the man they are demanding the reinstatement of – Joe Kinnear.

They have also now admitted that they have discussed changing the club’s name to London Luton . Initially they rubbished it but they have now confirmed it has been under discussion.

It cannot get worse can it? Well yes it can to be honest. Today the Chief Executive Designate John Gurney has told the fans that a report will be published tomorrow, a report that will detail how the club is going to be turned into the largest football club in the country.

"Luton has a unique opportunity to make the club one of THE forces in English football," Gurney told the disbelieving and stunned fans.

Any more? Yes there is, he wants to buy Franchise (he refers to them as the Milton Keynes Wombles) and merge the two clubs. He wants the merged club to play at Luton and be called Luton (or is that London Luton?). Then he comes clean and says he wants to buy a back door place in Division One.

It might be against the rules but once Franchise are involved all rules seem to go out of the window.

When will football learn, when will people like this be kept away from the game?

Three weeks ago this web site published the Football Supporters’ Federation 22 point Blueprint for football, click HERE to read it.

The third of them is very appropriate when it refers to a fit and proper person test being introduced for all persons owning or directing a football club. The FSF have made some headway on this already with the football authorities and we can only hope that something suitable is put in place soon.

The Luton fans are currently less than happy, despite the fact that they are set to be bigger than even Manchester United. It could be these fans that are the next to ask us for our help.

This web site and the Clarets Independent Supporters Association will work alongside the FSF in trying to safeguard the game and the clubs. How many more times are clubs going to be wrecked like this?
