That someone is expected to be Sandy Stewart, his right hand man at St. Johnstone for the last nine months since he replaced Jim Weir in February of this year.

The 42-year-old Stewart's career has been exclusively in Scotland. He started his career with Hearts before moving to Kilmarnock and then on to Airdrieonians.

Moves to Partick Thistle and Airdrie United followed and in July 2002 he became the player/manager. His playing career came to an end in 2005 and his last game was a Scottish League Division One game at home to his previous club Partick Thistle that ended in a 1-0 defeat.

He continued as manager until he was sacked on 13th November 2006 and three months later joined St. Johnstone as Coyle's number two. He currently remains with the Perth club as caretaker boss and will lead them into their Challenge Cup Final this Sunday.

St. Johnstone have invited Owen Coyle to the game as a special guest but suggestions are that he will be looking to bring Stewart to Burnley after this game.
