New manager Owen Coyle said last week that he intended bringing someone else on to the staff and it has now been confirmed that, as expected, his target is Sandy Stewart who was his coach at St. Johnstone.

The former Airdrie United manager confirmed after the game that Coyle wanted him to move to Burnley. He said all his efforts had been concentrated on preparing the team for the final, which was played at Dundee's Dens Park, but that he now had to look ahead with Coyle having offered him the offer to join him at Turf Moor.
Our new manager was at the final and as they celebrated the win the crowd chanted his name. They were joined by captain, and former Burnley target, Derek McInnes, who pleaded with him to join the on-pitch celebrations but he opted not to.
Stewart has obviously decided to come to Burnley, but the suggestions are he will remain at McDiarmid Park until such time as St. Johnstone have named a new manager.
