He's played just over an hour for us and already there are suggestions and counter suggestions as to whether he will be with the Clarets beyond January and even on a permanent basis.
Stewart himself has said when asked the question: "I spoke to the gaffer here, and if I really enjoy it here and he enjoys having me then it could be. I spoke to Steve Bruce and he said come here for six months and then we'll review it in January. I've still got almost two years with Hull so we'll wait and see what January brings.
"Leicester (who are managed by Nigel Pearson who signed him for Hull) made a bid for me in January and over the close season my agent spoke to a few clubs but I decided to stay at Hull.
"Obviously with Steve Bruce coming in he's changed a few things and he's changed the system. We've been playing a back five, or 3-5-2, however you want to put it, so I could see myself not playing a lot of games.
"I think we both thought together that it would be a good idea for me to go out on loan and play a few more games. I'm still only 21, had a long injury and then came back, so for me to be spending a lot of time on the bench wasn't really idea. I wanted to come out and try to get some more games."
Stewart was speaking to our local press, but over in Hull, Bruce has also spoken about the situation and he stressed immediately: "There's no writing on the way for him here, far from it. It's something we'll address in January.
"I hope he goes to Burnley and rips it up, I really do, but he just needs to play. Cameron's recovered from his cruciate ligament injury but he still needs his confidence back. You can only get that by playing games.
"Having come back from a serious knee injury in the last year, he just needs to keep playing games. His chances of featuring here were obviously reduced when we signed Elmohamady and Quinn, who can both play in wide areas, but it enables him to go out and play football."
Bruce confirmed there was no agreement in place for Stewart to remain at Turf Moor beyond January. "Not at the money, no," he added. "I just think Cameron needed to play and I couldn't guarantee him that here."
