Steve would like another striker

If he does then it certainly won't be Gareth Taylor, as has been suggested from some sources this week. Steve said if he was able to sign another striker it would be someone who could provide us with something different and that wouldn't be the case with Taylor having already signed Gifton Noel-Williams.

If he is able to sign another striker though it will be for Burnley and not for Hearts after he was this week been linked with the manager's job at the SPL club. Former Parma manager Nevio Scala looked favourite but it looks as though it could now be George Burley.

“I am just starting to put a team together at Burnley,” Steve said. “I told the chairman about the call I received and it would now be up to Hearts to contact him but I really don't see anything coming of it.”

Instead he is hoping to have talks with a player this weekend which could mean him clinching his fifth summer signing. There are strong suggestions this could be a left back, a position that was vacated when Mo Camara was released at the end of last season.
