The Clarets are at Accrington on 20th July
The pre-season programme gets underway a week later this year, we were at Accrington as early as 10th July in 2004, when we travel to Cheltenham on Saturday 16th July. This match is part of the deal that saw Michael Duff join the Clarets last summer.

Four days later, on Wednesday 20th, we travel to Accrington for what has now become an annual fixture. It used to be the reserves that played in this but Steve Cotterill has said we will be playing the first team for the third year in succession.

Turf Moor will finally open its doors three days after the trip to the Interlink when our visitors will be Malaga who are currently in 15th place in La Liga. And that comes a day before the squad fly out to Austria and a week at the Obertraun training camp.

There are no confirmed fixtures for Austria as yet but it is looking very likely that we will play two games on the Tuesday and Friday before heading back for one final pre-season game against Birmingham.

There’s no date for this last game as yet which is similar to the Cheltenham game in that it is part of the Robbie Blake deal.

So Cheltenham first and I make it that’s just 65 days from now.
