Stan the Man

Now they do seem to appearing one after the other and although reading about the Clarets can be an enjoyable experience some of them have been disappointing.

Now it is all set to change and the next Burnley related effort to hit the bookshelves will be about one man, and one man alone, Stan Ternent.

Written in conjunction with Tony Livesey the book is about Stan’s hard life in football and to be honest a blind man on a galloping horse can see that it is going to be a good read. It should be a best seller but much will depend on whether it gets much advertising on the magic lantern.

It won’t all be about the good times in football, let’s face it one swallow doesn’t make a summer, but this will be a great publication for the Burnley boss and I cannot see how he could shoot himself in the foot with this one.

There is no definite publication date yet but there again what is definite? A boy could say he is definitely going to the picture house but if the picture house catches fire he won’t be able to go then.

It should be the perfect Christmas present and one you can pick up and read after having had too much turkey and plum duff. I know you would probably have preferred the full Encyclopaedia Britannica but you cannot have champagne tastes on beer money.

So when you get the book (it is already advertised with a well-known internet bookshop) just open it, crack on and see where it takes you.
