Stan looking for same again

Neil Wood - tweaked knee
The team travelled down to Berkshire yesterday lunchtime, we must be flush with money now, and with the limited numbers available there won’t be any room for too many changes.

There is no news on Neil Wood who suffered a ‘tweaked’ knee on Friday in training and past history suggests this could keep him out for anything between one game and half a season.

It is unlikely that Wood will be back in the starting eleven and although Stan will have an eye on Saturday when both Tony Grant and Paul Weller (but not Richard Chaplow) will be out of the side it is probable that it will be the same starting eleven.

That will again see Paul Weller on the left hand side. He has had a stop/start season when injuries seem to have constantly stopped him from getting a run in the side. After tonight it will be that suspension that will prevent him playing in three games after the club’s appeal failed.

So we can expect the same team which will be:

Brian Jensen, Lee Roche, David May, Mark McGregor, Mo Camara, Glen Little, Richard Chaplow, Tony Grant, Paul Weller, Robbie Blake, Ian Moore. Subs: Paul Rachubka, Dean West, Bradley Orr, Alan Moore, Luke Chadwick.

Steve Coppell also is expected to make no changes from the side that won at Gillingham with the whole squad coming through without injury. Shaun Goater and Steve Sidwell had both been considered doubtful for that game but neither suffered any reaction.

They are still likely to be without Adie Williams with the toe injury that kept him out of the Welsh match last week whilst striker Nicky Forster is definitely ruled out with a stomach injury.

Steve Brown jarred his knee at Rotherham a week last Saturday and he is still considered doubtful.

Coppell is expected to name the following team:

Marcus Hahneman, Graeme Murty, Ivar Ingarmarsen, Ricky Newman, Nicky Shorey, Andy Hughes, Steve Sidwell, James Harper, John Salako, Shaun Goater, Lloyd Owusu. Subs: Bas Savage, Dean Morgan, Jamie Young, Scott Murray, Dave Kitson.
