Stan in running for Scottish job

The Pars are looking to replace the departed Jimmy Calderwood and it looks as though it could be a choice between Stan and David Hay for the hot seat.

Stan said about the possibility, "I have spoken twice with the chairman and the ball is now in Dunfermline's court. I would seriously consider the chance of managing in Scotland and if their ambition can match mine, I'd be keen to take over.

"I am a frequent visitor to games in Scotland. There is an abundance of good players. 'I like the way Dunfermline play the game and from what I have seen, the squad in place is full of quality.

"I am unemployed and looking to get back into the game and this could be the ideal opportunity but I'll see how things develop next week."

Pars’ chairman John Yorkston has confirmed that Stan could be just the manager they are looking for and said, "Contact has been made and someone with Stan's background is obviously of interest to us.

"He has a proven track record and the pedigree to make him a candidate we will consider."

With Sam Ellis already back in work at Leeds, Stan will be looking for a good opportunity soon to continue his managerial career. And if he does take the job it would be no big surprise if he asked his number two from Hull City to take on the role at East End Park, that being Mick Docherty.
