Stan at war with Law

Stan - unhappy with the comments of Bradford manager Nicky Law
Apart from the fact that Law called our defenders ‘Not good enough’ he also launched an attack on Dimitri Papadopoulos who he said was diving around all over the place.

Stan, if nothing else, will not allow these sort of comments about any of his players and today hit back at Law in no uncertain terms for both his comments and his behaviour during the game on Saturday.

He said, "Nicky Law's comments were absolutely disgraceful, they were slanderous and he should apologise. His comments were those of a young, inexperienced manager talking about other teams when he should be concentrating on his own.

"He must be a very good manager if he has got time to talk about others, he should concentrate on his own.

"Dimi is not a diver, their manager was totally unprofessional and ridiculous. Dimi had a rough time with their defenders, they were like a flock of locusts around him. I took him off at half time in case he got sent off.

"The crowd was roaring and bawling and the way that Law and his assistant behaved during the game was nothing short of disgraceful."

The Bradford manager must have feared the worst when Stan suggested that his comments were slanderous and quickly apologised this morning,

"I would like to say sorry for the comments I made about Dimitrios Papadopoulos, they were said in the heat of the moment immediately after the match. Unfortunately I made comments about another team’s player and I shouldn’t have done. I intend no harm towards Stan or to Burnley."

Law clearly shouldn’t have made the comments but he has apologised and that should be the end of the matter. Now he is going to concentrate his efforts on appealing against the red cards. I would suggest he is going to fail in much the same way as Steve Cotterill did after his appeal against Tommy Mooney’s red card a week earlier was thrown out.
