St. Ledger for Turf Moor?

St. Ledger was expected to be in the squad after being given the all clear having suffered concussion during training, but even with Cort ruled out with an injury he wasn't named in the 18 for their home game against fellow strugglers Middlesbrough, the club St. Ledger joined last season on loan.

The Republic of Ireland international defender, who celebrates his 26^th birthday today, signed for Preston in the summer of 2006 and has made 170 league appearances for them, the last coming in November of this year.

It's not the first time we've had this speculation in recent weeks and there have been strong indications that Cort would be signing for Preston in the New Year.
