The week after and many of the players who took part in the 1962 FA Cup Final between the two clubs will be back together at a dinner organised by the Ex-Clarets in Sport.

Nine of the Burnley team from that day will be there and they will be joined by four of the Tottenham team. Only Jimmy Adamson and Brian Miller from Burnley will be unavailable on the night but the remaining nine Clarets will be joined by Cliff Jones, Dave Mackay, Maurice Norman and Bobby Smith.

Entertainment will be provided by comedian Billy Bean on what will be a night of great nostalgia as members of the two sides come face to face again.

The dinner is being held at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Blackburn Road, Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington and tickets are priced at £35 each or £300 for a table of ten and net proceeds from the night will be donated to the FA/PFA ‘Keep Your Eyes on the Ball’ Campaign for Male Cancer Awareness.

Tickets or further details can be obtained from Veronica Simpson on 07974 310099.

This was a Cup Final worth remembering and the teams that day were;

Burnley: Adam Blacklaw, John Angus, Alex Elder, Jimmy Adamson, Tommy Cummings, Brian Miller, John Connelly, Jimmy McIlroy, Ray Pointer, Jimmy Robson, Gordon Harris.

Tottenham Hotspur: Bill Brown, Peter Baker, Ron Henry, Danny Blanchflower, Maurcie Norman, Dave Mackay, Terry Medwin, John White, Bobby Smith, Jimmy Greaves, Cliff Jones.
