Spurs again for Clarets

Those two recent games were in 2002/03 when we beat them 2-1 on the Turf with goals from Robbie Blake and current first team coach Steve Davis, and then in 2004/05 when Spurs ran out 3-0 winners on the night Gary Cahill made his Burnley debut.

In the 1993/94 season they beat us 3-1 on aggregate, but back in 1982/83 we turned in that memorable performance at White Hart Lane when we came from a goal behind to beat them 4-1 with two Graham Roberts own goals and two from Billy Hamilton.

The recent win at Chelsea has been likened to that game and now we have the chance to go there and repeat it as we look to reach our first major cup final for 47 years, and that was against Spurs in the FA Cup.

A few weeks ago you would more than have fancied your chances against them as they went from one disaster to another under Ramos, but Harry Redknapp is in charge now and I'm sure it will be a triffic tie.

The away leg at White Hart Lane will be played on either Tuesday 6th or Wednesday 7th January with Turf Moor hosting the second leg two weeks later.

Manchester United or Derby will await the winners for the Wembley final.
