Spanish trip comes to nothing

Samuel Eto'o - could leave Barcelona
Steve flew out to Spain at the weekend to take in three trial games as he continued his search for new players to boost the Clarets' squad ahead of the 2007/08 season, but he returned with no new signings and little likelihood of there being any after not seeing any players that would improve our squad.

"There was nothing that would be what we would want," he said on returning to England in with less than a week before the Clarets start pre-season training and just over two weeks before we are back in action at Accrington.

So for now there are just two additions to the squad, Hungarian goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly and Besart Berisha today's capture from Hamburg and Steve will be continuing his search over the next few weeks.

Many players will see their contracts come to an end this weekend and that's when we'll see a busier transfer market that has just two months left before the window closes.
