Sousa goes at QPR

John Gregory, Mick Harford, Luigi De Canio, Iain Dowie and Gareth Ainsworth have all managed QPR since the beginning of last season. Ainsworth was caretaker after Dowie was sacked and before the arrival of Paulo Sousa.

Sousa took charge only in mid-November, Ainsworth's last game in charge was the game against us at Loftus Road, but for some weeks now there have been strong suggestions that his time was up.

Only last month Dexter Blackstock was allowed to go out on loan to Nottingham Forest and the manager claimed to have known nothing about it until it had happened.

This week his assistant Bruno Oliveira was sacked and that surely meant the writing was on the wall with another change of manager imminent. That came yesterday when the club claimed they had to terminate his contract after Sousa had divulged highly confidential and sensitive information without authority. They made the decision to sack him after taking legal advice.

Ainsworth has again being asked to step in as caretaker, this time until the end of the season. His last game in charge was against us and his next one will be tomorrow afternoon.
