Skipper gets in league team

Caldwell turned in an assured performance alongside John McGreal in the centre of our defence on Saturday and there's no doubt he's settled in well since signing from RK Sunderland at the end of January.

In what was his first home game since his appointment as club captain was confirmed, he was part of the defence that, for the most part, kept out Palace's three pronged attack of James Scowcroft, Clinton Morrison and Dougie Freedman, the only goal being conceded when he'd gone upfield for a corner.

When the Clarets were winning games we struggled to get players into this team, the last week has now seen us add Gudjonsson and Caldwell to take the total to four for the season.

The full team from this week's games is: Paul Henderson (Leicester), Marc Edworthy (Derby), Jonny Evans (RK Sunderland), Steven Caldwell (Burnley), Marcus Hall (Coventry), Michael Kightly (Wolves), Karl Henry (Wolves), Dean Whitehead (RK Sunderland), Giles Barnes (Derby), Darren Huckerby (Norwich), Iain Hume (Leicester).
