Six players leave

Kevin Ball - one of six players released
The most surprising of these is Kevin Ball who has been a regular in the side since signing from Fulham in the summer of 2000 and this season has missed just one game other than when he was suspended.

Another of the more experienced players to leave is Mitchell Thomas who has been with us for three years. Mitchell has lost much of this season through injury but was superb for us in his first two seasons.

Lenny Johnrose and Tony Ellis have both been released. Ellis never started a game for the first team and Lenny hasn't been in the starting line up at all this season and it is no surprise to see either of them go.

Two players with very limited first team experience have joined them on the way out of Turf Moor, John Williamson and Luigi Cennamo. Williamson made just the one first team appearance as a sub against Macclesfield in March 1999 whilst goalkeeper Luigi made his one and only first team appearance as a sub for the injured Michopoulos at Cheltenham.

Clarets Mad would like to wish Bally, Mitchell, Lenny, Elvis, John and Lui the very best in the future with thanks for their contributions to Burnley Football Club.

As for Bally, we may be able to do the interview with him soon that the club blocked at the beginning of this season.
