A personal message by Chairman Barry Kilby to the fans of Burnley Football Club.

With next season just around the corner, we are pleased to announce the prices for the 2003/04 Season Ticket campaign.

As the 2002/03 Season gradually comes to a close, plans inevitably turn to the 2003/04 campaign and that starts with the necessary details for Season Tickets.

Yet again, Burnley’s current crop of Season Ticket Holders have been fantastic, backing the Club through what has been a very tough year financially.

The chance could have been there to greatly increase the prices of Season Tickets and Matchday Tickets for the 2003/04 Season to help soften the blow of lost TV cash, but we felt that this is not the way to go about things.

Our supporters have been magnificent at Turf Moor over the last season and the Season Ticket Holders are the most important fans we have, supporting the club all year round so we want to reward them for their loyalty as always.

That is why the only increases made have been minimal and we still offer a superb value package for First Division football.

The Club are now an established First Division outfit and this will be our fourth consecutive season there, whilst the team continues to contend in the higher reaches of the top flight of League Football which is a tremendous achievement.

The team put in some great performances in the Worthington Cup beating Tottenham Hotspur and in the FA Cup reaching the Quarter Finals, including a win over Fulham.

By attending matches at Turf Moor, it is the best way that supporters can help the Club out financially on a weekly basis and we are still one of the highest supported Clubs in the First Division in terms of Season Ticket Holders, who are all fantastic in their support of the Club.

However, the number of ‘walk-on’ supporters is still below average and we would like to increase that figure in the next season.

Gate money is one of the major sources of revenue for the Club and makes a large percentage of the turnover, and with more ‘walk-on’ supporters, we can increase that.

Despite the financial shortcomings, which were through no fault of anyone connected with Burnley Football Club, the Club is still going in the right direction and we feel that we still reward the loyalty shown by the supporters, as the Season Ticket prices are ‘average’ in the Division One price tables.

Once again, thank you for your superb support and remember that purchasing your Ticket as soon as possible allows us to plan properly for next season, the more early Season Ticket sales we get the more money will be available to make important additions to the squad in order for us to make a concerted push in the League next season. This season has been one of consolidation, we want next season to be one where the Club moves forward once more and makes the next step – towards the Premier League.

As we said, the progress has been good so far, Show Your Colours and let’s keep the Club going in the right direction.

Chairman Barry Kilby

Important facts on the prices

All Junior tickets are to increase by only £10 for the 2003/04 season, with the price now £65. The Junior ticket is still excellent value and it works out at only £2.83 per game, which is a very cheap price for First Division football, in fact less than we charged for Division Two football in 1998/99.

We will again be offering 16 to 18 year old supporters and proven full time students a price which is 50% of the adult prices.

Adult Season Tickets in the Bob Lord Stand are to increase by £11, which is an increase of 3.5%, whilst the price of Concession Tickets in the Bob Lord Stand goes up by £5, an increase of 3.2%. The average price per game for an adult season ticket holder here is £13.91 and for concessions, it’s £6.96.

The price of an Adult Season Ticket in the Jimmy McIlroy Upper Tier is going up by £20, whilst the Concession price in this stand rises by £10, an increase of 7.69%. The reason for this increase is because it brings into line with other stand prices. In previous years it has always been done by percentage, which has increased the least in this stand. The average price per game for an adult season ticket holder here is £12.17, whilst a concession is £6.09

The Jimmy McIlroy Lower Tier Adult price is increasing by £18, whilst the Concession price is going up by £9, with the reason for these rises the same as for the Upper Tier of the stand. The average price per game for an adult season ticket holder in this Stand is £11.35, whilst for a concession it is £5.70.

The James Hargreaves Stand Upper and Lower Tier prices are being held at the same price as last season. The reason for this is to bring into line the number of free games each season ticket holder gets in the various stands. Last season, the average was six or seven free games, but in the James Hargreaves Stand, it was only four free games. The average price per game in the Upper Level for an adult season ticket holder is £15.56, whilst a concession is £7.78. In the Lower Level, the average price per game for an adult is £13.43 and for concessions it is £6.74.

If you get your ticket before April 30, it will be at a discounted rate.

From past experiences, we would advise you to post your application or drop it into the Club with the necessary forms filled in. This way, there is no need to wait or queue up.
