Shelton signs subject to Work Permit

The original application for a work permit must have been refused and this review is similar to the one they had for Artim Sakiri but given Jamaica’s current standing in world football and the fact that Shelton has been playing international football it is much more likely that the Clarets will win this battle with the Home Office.

Shelton has been with the Clarets for a few weeks now and initially came over to receive treatement, but since he was declared fit he has obviously impressed enough to earn himself a deal.

It was pretty clear that the deal was close in any case, with Steve Cotterill having flown out to the USA to see him in action, and presumably to have initial talks. He’s reported to be a very quick striker with an eye for goal and if the work permit review is successful then it might not be long before we see him in action.

We will have to get international clearance before he can play, that unfortunately can sometimes take time, given the current situation, the sooner the better.
