Shaun remembered

‘Blind Shaun’ had been a Claret for many years despite his disability and became a friend to so many of us. A trophy in his name, donated by his favourite all time Burnley player Billy Hamilton, is now on display at Turf Moor. It is a Clarets Trust trophy and will again be presented in September in a repeat of a players v fans 5-a-side match.

Shaun will never be forgotten but tomorrow his family will be at Turf Moor after the Ex-Clarets in Sport raised money for a guide dog in his name. The former players’ organisation will pay for the dog and its training and as a tribute to Shaun they have named the dog Parker.

At half time in the game against Plymouth his family will receive a photograph of the dog from Andy Payton, a former school friend of Shaun, after this wonderful gesture by the Ex-Clarets in Sport.
