Shandran leads the way in the Conference

Anthony Shandran - debut goal for Stalybridge Celtic
The result of the day means congratulations to a former Claret and a current Claret. Stalybridge Celtic started the day third from bottom but jumped out of the relegation positions with a 2-0 victory at 4th place Yeovil.

It was David Miller's first game in charge and the second of the goals was scored by his loan signing Anthony Shandran who shrugged off a defender on the right hand side before hitting an unstoppable fierce shot past the Yeovil keeper.

Paul Barnes was also on the score sheet in Doncaster's 2-0 home win against Chester. He got the second with a header in the last minute of the first half of the game between two former Football League clubs. The game attracted a gate of over 2,000 and that was probably more than they would have expected had this still been a 3rd Division game.
