Shameful Leeds are relegated

This means they will suffer a ten point penalty, but it is meaningless because it does nothing other than move them into bottom place behind the other two relegated clubs Luton Town and Southend United. They have taken this action now to avoid starting next season in League One with a ten point penalty, they will now start alongside everyone else.

KPMG have been appointed as administrators, but wait a minute, a sale has already been agreed for the club to a company led by Ken Bates, the very chairman who has entered them into this administration. A spokesman for KPMG said: "Shortly after their appointment the joint administrators agreed to sell the business and its assets to a newly formed company.

"This company is called Leeds United Football Club Limited, the directors of which are Ken Bates, Shaun Harvey and Mark Taylor. The sale of the club is subject to approval by its creditors, via a Company Voluntary Arrangement."

The creditors' meeting will be held before the end of the month, whilst the Football League will need to approve the sale. It appears there is nothing within their powers that the Football League can do, although the exit from administration will have to comply with the League's insolvency policy under which all football debts must be settled in full.

So for this disgraceful sale not to go ahead will probably require the creditors to refuse its approval The rest of football will surely be hoping the creditors do refuse it, the whole thing stinks.
