Second striker gets international call

Papadopoulos, who we believe has collected more air miles than the rest of the squad put together, is set to be off on his travels again after the weekend’s game at Wolves. He has again been selected for the Greek Under-21 squad.

They have a friendly in Romania but as is the case with Taylor he won’t miss any Burnley games. Last season Dimitri never seemed to be here as he travelled constantly between Manchester and Athens and with him not 21 until next month he is still available for their under-21 squad. It is thought that he won’t be away quite so often though this season.

Club colleague Nik Michopoulos will not be travelling with him. After winning two caps during the summer with substitute appearances he hasn’t made the squad this time as the full national side also take on Romania.

So our congratulations to Dimitri on his call up.
