Saganowski linked with Burnley move

Polish international Saganowski had joined the Saints on loan just a few hours before Steven Caldwell became a Claret, on the very last day the transfer window was open in January. George Burley took him from French club Troyes where he'd been used only as a substitute during the early part of the season.

He scored his first goal for Southampton in February and went on to score ten goals in nine league starts before a groin strain ruled him out of the last three games. He recovered in time to play in the play off games against Derby before returning to France, but Southampton were expected to sign him on a permanent deal.

They may still do so, but Burnley fans learned today that we've made a £1 million bid to sign the 28-year-old who has sixteen full caps for Poland. It is purely tabloid speculation at this time and there's been no comment from the club.

Time will tell, but following the words of Brendan Flood and the quality signings we are now being linked with the likes of Marek Saganowski.
