Run to the Turf

The run will take place on the morning of the Cardiff game, 10^th September, and is the weekend of the first anniversary of the Trust launch. The runners will depart from the Turf at 11:00 a.m. and will make their way, via Todmorden Road, to Towneley where they will proceed towards the park and then to the top of Brunshaw Road via the steep Deerpark Road.

Eventually the runners, or by that time walkers, will arrive back at the Turf via Belvedere Road after completing a course of just under 10K.

The event is the brainchild of Damien Whitehead (pictured) who was initially threatening to run a marathon, he’s now worried as to whether he can complete this course.

All runners will pay a minimum of £20 to run although this will take into account sponsorship money raised. If you would like to take part then please EMAIL us to let us know, click HERE to download a sponsorship form and then all you will need to do is report to the Leisure Centre at Turf Moor for 10:30 a.m. a week on Saturday.

If you would like to help with the even then again please EMAIL us – we will need people offering help and drinks and also to take photographs of them struggling up that hill.
