Ross Wilson back in football with Clitheroe

He had a short spell with Silsden after he left Turf Moor but was more recently with Workington in Conference North, alongside some of his former Turf Moor team mates.

One of those team mates was Dave Lynch who also left the Clarets in 2012 after one year with the development squad, and after a spell with Workington he signed for Clitheroe in the summer of this year where he is now captain.

It is Lynch that has got Wilson back into football as he explained on the Clitheroe web site. "Lynchy set me up really," Ross said. "I've not played this year but David told me about the opportunity of coming to Shawbridge.

"He got me in touch with Simon Garner (Clitheroe manager) and I trained with the club on Saturday and then signed. It's great to be back in non-league football and I am really happy with the chance the club has given me."

Lynch said of Wilson: "Ross is strong and quick. He'll fit in the squad nicely, he has a great attitude and has lots of ability. He will add competition in attacking positions and that can only be good for the team."

Wilson will go straight into the Clitheroe squad and could make his debut in their home game against Farsley this Saturday.
