Roche back at Wrexham

It’s no surprise, he’s been linked with them for a few weeks and he returns to the club where he spent the 2000/01 season on loan. He went on to win the club’s young player of the year award playing at left back, that forcing another ex-Claret Mark McGregor into a central defensive role.

It was thought to be his stepping stone to better things but he failed to make any impact on his return to Old Trafford and was released two years ago when Stan Ternent beat both Blackpool and Swansea to his signature.

A hamstring injury cost him his place in the Burnley side during his first season with the club allowing Dean West to establish himself at right back again. Last season it was firstly Michael Duff and then Frank Sinclair who kept him out and despite the small squad he made just seventeen league starts.

He’s now gone back to where he had his most successful season to date and will prove a popular signing with the Wrexham fans.
