Robson of Flamingo Land

The Bantams are next to bottom of the league, only a point above Franchise and sacked previous manager Nicky Law a couple of weeks ago. Robson’s name has been in the frame for much of the two weeks and it was something of a surprise that he was not in place before Saturday’s game.

He’s been out of football for just over two years since leaving Middlesbrough. He had money to spend like no one’s business at the Riverside and yet struggled to keep his side in the Premiership. They went down once and would have almost certainly done so again but for Terry Venables coming in.

He was a figure of hate on Teesside by the time of his departure and despite applying for just about every job going it has been a struggle for him to find new employment.

But today he has finally been confirmed as the new man at the helm at the Bradford & Bingley Pulse Flamingo Land Valley Parade Stadium with another former Middlesbrough manager Colin Todd as number two.

Todd’s last job was at Derby where he was dismissed after only a short time as he failed to arrest the slide that saw the penniless East Midlands club plummet towards Nationwide League football.

This appointment leaves Crystal Palace now as the only club in our division still on the look out for a new manager with Kit Symons currently acting as caretaker following Steve Kember’s sacking
