Robbie wanted at the Concrete Jungle

The first offer came from Joe Kinnear who tried to take him back to Forest, Robbie was on loan there four years ago. Early suggestions were that Kinnear had offered £300,000 for him but it was later revealed that he was offering two of his fringe players rather than any money for him.

He has since signed Jack Lester, the player who played alongside Robbie for Forest when they beat us 5-0, taking him for £50,000 from Neil Warnock’s group of twenty strikers.

Kinnear has though since revealed that he would let David Johnson and Marlon King go to help fund some new signings.

However, it is not Kinnear who has made the latest offer, that has come from JJB Sports and they have offered half a million for him to take him to the characterless ground in Wigan.

It’s a strange one, manager Paul Jewell has long been an admirer of Blake and he described him last season as a class above anyone on the pitch when the two sides met.

But Robbie only recently said that his fall out with Jewell at Bradford led to him not making the most of his Premiership opportunity and with it being shipped out on loan to Forest.

So it would be something of a surprise if he would want to play for him. Only recently we were led to believe that the finances were so much better at Burnley, being told that we don’t need to sell players.

Not many will believe that following the stunning news that we need to sell the ground and the training ground and it is now looking inevitable that the right sort of offer will see Robbie’s departure.

The £500,000 offer is deemed to be not the right offer and so we have turned it down – but it does now ask the question as to how much longer Robbie Blake will be a Claret.

For now though - 'We've got Robbie Blake, we'e got Robbie Blake'.
