Robbie in Team of the Season

We all know how well he has played this season and many of us were surprised when he was overlooked for the PFA Team with the fast fading Robert Earnshaw of Cardiff grabbing a place up front alongside Crystal Palace’s Andy Johnson.

But it is Robbie in the league team and they said of him, “Often overlooked because of his club’s lowly position in the table, Blake has been red hot this season.

“Twenty-two goals for a mid-table side tells its own story, but there is much more to Blake than that. The Middlesbrough-born striker is a joy to partner up front with his clever touches, endless running and unsurpassed link up play.”

The full Nationwide League Division One Team of the Season is:

Robert Green (Norwich), Tom Huddlestone (Derby), Danny Gabbidon (Cardiff), Calum Davenport (Coventry), Julio Arca (Sunderland), Graham Kavanagh (Cardiff), Jim Magilton (Ipswich), Jason Koumas (West Brom), Andy Reid (Nottingham Forest), Robbie Blake (Burnley), Darren Huckerby (Norwich).

Former Claret Marlon Beresford won a place in the Division Two team following his performances for both Luton and Barnsley.
