Riordan offer refused

There is nothing official from either club but Sky Sports News have reported that SPL leaders Celtic have said no to an offer from the Clarets for the Scottish international striker although there is no indication as to how much the offer is.

The former prolific goalscorer from Hibs celebrated his 25th birthday yesterday and he is believed ready to leave Celtic after eighteen months there with him not having been able to win a regular place in the side.

He cost Celtic £200,000 but has made just 23 league appearances for them with only eight of them starts. That has brought him five goals after he'd left Hibs with 54 goals in 123 league appearances.

Leicester were strongly linked with him in the summer but nothing came of it and both Bristol City and Hearts have been linked with him recently. It now looks as though, as was the case with Sheffield Wednesday's Glenn Whelan, that we've had an offer for him turned down.
